Race report 1-2.8.2026

The first day of Garmin ILCA 7 & 6 Nordic and Finnish Class Championships was

sailed during a sunny Saturday in Nagu. All three races were sailed in a pleasant 12-

20 knot wind. The day was full of tight racing and action!

It is always delightful to see familiar faces return to Nagu year after year. However,

every time there are also new sailors participating. After a great sunny day of sailing,

it was a joy to continue the evening in good company, with good food and live music!

The second day of the Championships was sailed in alternating wind conditions and

sunshine. The wind was altering between 9-14 knots with strong gustsThe

demanding conditions and a tough opening day of racing resulted in several DNFs.

However, the race stayed tight and fast paced the whole day. Especially after having

to redo one ILCA 6 start, the windward mark was very crowded for a while.

All in all, the second race day was a success! The weekend ended with some

salmon soup and the prize giving ceremony.
